About Wilmington STIR

Wilmington STIR (Sitting Together Is Radical) is an initiative which offers a means to provide funding for creative projects through community meals.

The formula is quite simple. People come together to share a meal and give a $10-20 donation. Everyone who donates gets one vote to determine which project receives the grant. Project proposals are received beforehand and presented during the meal, and at the end of meal the proposal with the most votes receives a grant comprised of that evening’s donations. The proposals accepted, and grants distributed, can vary from meal to meal.

Founding Organizational Partners: PADEAC & NWAA

The role of the Public Allies Delaware Alumni Council is to advocate for the interests of its alumni leadership network and to support alumni in developing innovative social initiatives benefiting the communities in which they live & work.

Founded in 2008, the New Wilmington Art Association enables artists to work, develop, and think through its creative interventions staged in vacant properties throughout the City of Wilmington. The organization was formed on the principles of aggressively working to support the creative interests, endeavors, careers, and lifestyles of all artists, as well as directly foster the development of a more diverse cultural landscape in Wilmington.
