North Tulsa Soup
Three proposals will be considered. Keep the presentation short, less than 5 minutes. Avoid high-tech, laser-guided Power Points. To submit, include project name, summary, and principals. Answer three questions: 1) How will the project use soup...
Inspired by Detroit Soup, North Tulsa Soup funds environmentally-conscious, eco-friendly, sustainable transportation and land use in the North Tulsa area, including Turley, Sperry, and unincorporated Tulsa County. Mark the first Sundays as the monthy soup!
Hosting venue can be someone's house, a community garden, a low-cost meeting space, etc.
With enough hosting venues, maybe we could do soup every Sunday afternoon. Food + Creativity = COMMUNITY!
Join us for vegan soup, salad, and bread. Pay $10. Learn about innovative ideas for redeveloping North Tulsa. Vote for your favorite to get soup funding from the evening's proceeds.
Meet-n-greet: 12:30 p.m.
Proposal presentations: 1:30 p.m.
Dinner: 2:30 p.m.
Old doors set low, Japanese style, are used for dining. Bring blankets and pillows for lawn seating, weather permitting. A few pallet benches available. To keep throwaways to a bare minimum, please consider bringing your own plates, cups, bowls, and utensils. Plenty of bike parking!
At each soup, three proposals will be presented to the diners. They vote on which proposal gets funding from the night's proceeds.
Deadline for submitting proposals is last Sundays. Submit project name, summary and answer three questions: 1) How will you use soup funding? 2) How will the project benefit North Tulsa? 3) What are the project milestones?
Keep your presentations simple and less than 5 minutes. Avoid high-tech, laser-guided Power Points, if possible.
If you are not presenting, consider volunteering as cooks, servers, and setups. One person can't possibly pull this off every month.
